An alternative would be to put this stuff below the ads to the left which would make for a MEGA menu, maybe not so nice.

I might try to put categories to the right though but that might break the 1024*768 compatibility which would be a bummer, anyway I'll look into it...

Re: Comparing TYPO3, Joomla, Drupal and MODx

Nice Comparison! Thanks. Finally, a review written that considers both project complexity and developer skill-set!

I'm a experienced developer with advanced site requirements, so I'm leaning towards ModX, but am also considering e107. e107's built-in forum (that operates pretty reasonably) is appealing...although I might use Modx and work-up or find a PHPBB3 bridge etc.

Strong templating, multi-lingual, and AJAX support (or extensibility) are also considerations.

Henrik, since the IMPORTANT site nav is at the bottom of your site :-) ..you might want to pick up Don't Make Me Think by Steve Krug. A super-fast (2 hr), wonderfully illustrated read..that will improve your web usability thinking forever.

Anyhow..Nice Review!

-Jay

Re: Comparing TYPO3, Joomla, Drupal and MODx

I'm all for MODx. Snippets, chunks and the templating system really makes it what it is. The only problem is that the user base isn't as extensive as it should be. We'll see what happens with the release of 0.9.7.

Re: Comparing TYPO3, Joomla, Drupal and MODx

Found a link to an article comparing Joomla and TYPO3, well not comparing actually but more a nice description of some TYPO3 features.

Joomla is a very simplified CMS which can accommodate only needs of very small web-sites and organizations.

This is a statement I don't agree with, switching "very small" to "small to medium sized" feels more accurate.
